Library Dream
In BLACKSOULS 2 the Library Dream area is what the Holy Forest was in the first game. It’s a sanctuary and a safe spot where you can level up, buy different types of items, and access the Room of Reminiscence.
You will be awaited by Node after reaching 1 Progression Point – who is one of the few people in the game you can rely on, she has a good covenant for starters, and she will let you level up.
To get to this area at the beginning of the game you have to die.
Other than Node, useful NPCs in this room are the Polar Bear, and Jack-in-the-Box. At the statue in the top right corner, you can change the game’s difficulty.
This area leads to: Dungeon, Room of Reminiscence, Stairs to the Attic

You can also find the White Crow from the first game to who you can give Candy in exchange for valuable items.

Crimean Nursing Graveyard
Crimean Nursing Graveyard is a DLC3 exclusive area that’s also one of the biggest areas in the game. It’s a large hospital operated by Florence, and it’s set in an unknown garden. It has a unique aesthetic and noticeably different textures than the rest of the stuff in the main game.
In the main lobby (1st floor) of the Crimean Nursing Graveyard, there’s an elevator that leads to the upper floors, and there’s a room where you can find the Sackhead Girl. There’s also a hallway that leads to the Lamp Lady Chase Scene – at the end of this interaction, you will be able to progress to the upper floors by going up the stairs, although the paths to the larger parts of the floors are blocked and make it impossible to go to. On the 4th floor, there’s a switch that will enable you to use the elevator that has access to the blocked parts of all floors, this will also turn the Patients into hostile Corpse-Eaters that are very strong, so it’s best to kill them in the main lobby before they turn into Corpse-Eaters, because they will disappear and not bother you later (they’re hard to avoid).
In the center of the lobby, there are 4 lanterns that you have to light up with Lamp Sparks – each floor has 1 Lamp Spark. The ground the 4 lanterns are on is surrounded by a blue liquid that harms the player, which is most likely Star Fluid or something similar. The Patients are maniacally drinking that water, so they may block your path a little bit.
The 2nd floor isn’t too dangerous, it’s just a large hallway with a lot of sofas. There’s a door that leads to a small room with a lot of patients, and another door that leads to Dr. Jekyll’s room, this is where you can find a Lamp Spark.
Items you can find here are Sorcery [Acid Rain], and Corpse-Eater’s Ring.
The 3rd floor is more overgrown than the 2nd floor and it even has trees growing. There are two doors that lead to a big place with a lot of patients, blood, and other grotesque visuals. Lingeriena is in that room sitting at the piano, there you can also find another Lamp Spark. Going upstairs will lead you to a row of tables and bloody torture tools.
Items you can find here are Sniper’s Ring+3, Ring of Life+3, Sorcery [Shadowy Bog], Unbreakable Ring, Evil Eye Ring+3,
The 4th floor has a lot of Corpse-Eaters and Patients lurking around, and it has a lot of rooms you can enter. There’s a long balcony that’s full of Star Pests, but at the end of it, you can find the God’s Angels sword. There’s a big office where you can find the Nightingale fairytale and another Lamp Spark. And there’s a door that leads to an area with a large cross and a headless corpse in a wheelchair that has the Miracle [Summon Wall of Flesh].
The blocked part that can only be reached by stairs has Lingeriena on a pillar and a corpse next to her pillar with the Almighty Ring. That’s also where the switch is that makes the elevator work.
When you put the 3 Lamp Sparks from the upper floors into the lamps, you will unlock access to the 5th floor – you can access it through the elevator. When you open the elevator’s doors you will be in a huge rusty hallway maze with the Lamp Lady chasing you again. There’s a hidden doorway that leads to a new area that eventually leads to the last Lamp Spark.
Collecting all Lamp Sparks will unlock a flight of stairs that’s above the 4 lamps. You will then reach the boss fight with the Nurse Call, and above that is another flight of stairs that leads straight to Florence.
After defeating Florence, there will be a door that leads to an elevator.

Mountains of Madness is an area accessible during the Unis route of the conflict between the Lion and the Unicorn. This area is named after H.P. Lovecraft’s book “At the Mountains of Madness”, and it references a lot of the stuff that happens in the book.
The area encompasses the outside and the inside of the mountains.
When you come inside you will be greeted by Albino Penguins roaming around, there are also Slime enemies in certain parts of the area. The other enemies shouldn’t be too difficult to defeat, although they’re hard to avoid and some block certain important parts.
There’s an optional part in this area where you can go and meet the Dissolution Queen Sho.

Winterbell
The Winterbell area is Node’s domain and her homeland. Throughout the city, you can see many entities, as well as their clones, from the main part of the game in great numbers. The area is quite safe as there are no enemies around, it’s a nice vacation home set on a seashore.
There are a lot of houses and other buildings. The main colors that are present are white and blue – there’s an interesting feel to the area.
Some houses can be entered and they are usually filled with treasure and bear plushies that contain memories of certain interactions between certain Great Ones. These flashbacks are important for understanding the game’s story and certain characters’ place in it. One house has an unreal amount of wine in it everywhere, and that’s where you can find Mabel, drunk out of her mind.
In the houses, you can find the Polar Bear’s Ring, the Old King’s Ring, and the White Rabbit Ring. Outside the houses, you can find the Ring of Sin+3, Sorcery [Soul Stream], and the Bunny Suit (which is hidden behind a wall at an entrance of one of the houses you can enter, you can make Node wear this Bunny Suit later in the Library Dream).
Cats hold some sort of significance in this city as there are a lot of cat imprints on the city walls. One sign even says “In this city, none shall kill a cat”.
In the Winterbell area, there’s an entrance to the visual novel part of the game.
Going further in the area will eventually lead you to the throne room, but before that, you will see a recurring character in the BLACKSOULS series – Frog Heinrich, who you can talk to for a bit.
