Dr. Jekyll is a character in BLACKSOULS 2 that appears only in a certain part of the DLC3 expansion. He can be found in the Crimean Nursing Graveyard, and he’s one of the doctors there who used to work at Lutwidge’s Mental Ward as well.
He’s most likely based on Dr. Jekyll from the book Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, written by Robert Louis Stevenson.

Dr. Jekyll is one of the NPCs in the game that appears only in the DLC3 part of it.
Meeting Dr. Jekyll
One of the places where you can meet him for the first time is his room you can get to by going to the 2F floor through the elevator.
If you come and talk to him he will immediately recognize you as the drifter patient that recently arrived.
When he’s done with his dialogue and if you talk to him again, you can tell him you’re going to Alice, although he doesn’t really like her that much.
You can buy a Preserved Viscera from him.
Detective Holmes
If you try to buy medicine from Dr. Jekyll, and then talk to him again right after doing that, he’ll start talking about something that’s been bothering him for a long time.
He will start talking about one patient from the days while he was still working as a doctor at the Mental Ward in Lutwidge.
It was his last patient – the patient was hairy, and apparently, it had a second personality “with a warped sense of justice”, because he thought that killing all prostitutes would save the country. The doctor will go on to say how he saw many crazy patients, but he felt Envy towards this one. So he then decided to throw the patient in an isolation chamber and then used him as a test subject, saying “If you have no will to cure yourself, it’s only proper I use you”.
That patient is obviously Detective Holmes, who goes around killing prostitutes as Jack the Ripper.
After all the experiments he made a transcendent drug. While he remained a normal person when in public when nobody was looking he’d unleash a second personality “full of lust for pleasures most abhorrent”.
Then he will drink the drug and unleash his second personality, so the doctor will attack you but as a nightmare spirit Mad Devil Hyde.
Fighting the Mad Devil Hyde
When you talk to Dr. Jekyll you will have the option to buy the Preserved Viscera from him, but if you talk to him again after leaving the shopping menu, he will go mad and instantly turn into a nightmare spirit Mad Devil Hyde that will instantly attack you.
You will have no other choice but to fight him, and if you manage to defeat him, he will turn into Dr. Jekyll, which is his regular form. He’s a tough enemy to defeat in both phases.
If you fight Dr. Jekyll before fighting Mad Devil Hyde, he will turn into Mad Devil Hyde if he loses.
Defeating them will give you the Two-Faced Buckler, and a Tainted Black Soul.
Fighting Dr. Jekyll
If you try to kill Dr. Jekyll right away, he will fight you in his normal form. He’s not weak at all so you should take care while fighting him, especially because he has a second form where he turns into the Mad Devil Hyde.
If you fight the Mad Devil Hyde before fighting Dr. Jekyll, he will turn into Dr. Jekyll if he loses.
Defeating them will give you the Two-Faced Buckler, and a Tainted Black Soul.
