Red Hood

Red Hood is one of the main characters in the BLACKSOULS series. She’s one of the fairytales in the game and can also be your companion. Red Hood is one of the few human characters you can find in the game, and she’s probably the one with the most tragic backstory.

She’s made on the basis of Little Red Riding Hood which appears in the Brothers Grimm version of the fairytale.

(this post is still WIP and is being expanded/updated)

Appearances | RHW

Red Hood makes her first appearance in the series in Red Hood’s Woods – a game dedicated to her and parts of her backstory.

You will be playing as Red Hood throughout the entire game.

Red Hood wakes up

The Beginning

When you start your playthrough you will wake up as Red Hood in her house.

The letter on the table downstairs is from Red Hood’s grandma, she tells Red Hood to not go outside because it will be raining the whole night and there’s also a Big Bad Wolf prowling outside.

When you read this letter the door to the kitchen will be unlocked and you will be able to go to the Basement, from where you start your adventure in Red Hoods Wood’s.

Grandma's letter

In the Basement, there are mirrors that lead to different areas. The only mirror that’s not broken leads to the Fog Woods and that’s where the player, i.e. Red Hood will start her adventures.

Poro will appear in the basement after progressing a little bit in the game. You can talk to him, trade with him, and reinforce weapons.

Red Hood’s Message

There’s a message from Red Hood written on a sign right at the beginning of the Dark Woods area.

The message is written by Red Hood, she’s asking if anyone knows where her mom and dad are, asking anyone to inform her if they know where her parents are.

Lost Memories

In the Snowfield area, there are various memories you can collect and visit. Each one will activate a specific cutscene showing a portion of Red Hood’s past.

There’s a memory from Red Hood’s past that shows an unpleasant encounter with her grandpa.

Memories with grandpa

After everyone in the family fell asleep, she got called into her grandpa’s room to undress. Then the grandpa will be having forceful sex with Red Hood who’ll just stay silent, as if it was a normal occurrence. The grandpa will remark how the silence is nice because no one can hear them.

Another one of the memories shows Red Hood also being forced by her grandpa to have sex with him, and it’s quite graphic.

The third one shows also Red Hood being sexually harassed by her grandpa, and from that conversation, it’s revealed her parents died so he took her in.

Cheshire Cat

When you reach the Great Bridge after leaving the Dark Woods you will meet Poro again.

Red Hood will call out Poro by saying how he’s everywhere, and he will respond with “because I’m everywhere, I’m nowhere”. Red Hood will then tell him to stop imitating the Cheshire Cat, Poro will be surprised and ask Red Hood if she began to remember, not specifying what.

She will say she doesn’t know, and he will just say how “it’s close”, and that’s how he feels.

Red Hood Meets Poro

After defeating the Incandecent Demon King there will be a cutscene that shows how Red Hood and Poro met.

The scene will show Red Hood asking “mister Wolf” to give her a moment, so she will ask him if he can eat a person. Red Hood wants the wolf to eat her grandpa, but the wolf is too afraid to attack a human even when Red Hood tells him how she knows it’s hard for wild animals to get food.

So to solve this problem Red Hood will say how she will bring him food instead, and then the wolf will introduce himself as Poro, saying how he will wait for Red Hood to come with the food.

Red Hood will then go back to her grandpa and brutally stab him to death. So before going back to her grandma, she will go to Poro with the meat she acquired from her grandpa.

Red Hood kills her grandpa

This made Red Hood so happy she even smiled.

At the end of the scene, she questions herself why did she even forget all that, ending the conversation with weird remarks about “grandpa’s meat in Poro”, “and I lived happily with grandma”, questioning where even is she.

Fighting Fenrir

After beating the Incandecent Demon King, Red Hood’s house will completely change and be a different area where you have to defeat the Zombie Dragon and the Hollowed Serpent to progress further.

This will lead you to Poro who’s starting to go insane, and that will initiate a fight with him where he will be fighting you as Fenrir.

Fighting Fenrir

Fighting Fenrir, 2

After Red Hood calms Poro down both of them will make up, Poro will apologize for the trouble, and Red Hood will apologize for feeding him human flesh.

This will end with an NSFW scene between Red Hood and Poro.

When the scene ends, Red Hood will point out how the place where they are right now isn’t reality, but not state the exact name of their location. Red Hood will after that be able to summon Poro in her fights.

Fighting Grandma

When you reach the last area in the game there will be Grandma waiting for Red Hood to kill her in order to take revenge for the murder of her husband, i.e. Red Hood’s grandpa who got killed and whose meat got fed to Poro.

Red Hood finds her grandmother

Grandma saw the entire thing Red Hood did to her grandpa. After that Red Hood saw that she was watching so she chased after Grandma until she slipped near a river.

Poro will call her out because Grandma isn’t Red Hood’s real grandmother. Grandma is still determined to kill Red Hood though, saying that this is her world and that Red Hood can’t do anything.

This will initiate a fight with the Grandma, who’s very strong so you should use Poro to help you against her as he’s a strong ally.

Grandmother appeared

Grandma will transform into the Great Nightmare when you defeat her 1st phase.

The Great Nightmare

After defeating the Great Nightmare everything will be over, and Poro will tell Red Hood how she will wake up from this “dream”. And then she and Poro will copulate on the spot to celebrate their victory.

Red Hood will wake up and the game will be finished. Room of Reminiscence will then also be unlocked and you will be able to see all the NSFW scenes in the game.

Red Hood and Poro, romantic moment

Appearances | BS1

Red Hood is a character you can have as your companion in the first BLACKSOULS game.

Getting to Red Hood’s House

To be able to get to Red Hood’s House, you need to defeat the Knight in Armor who’s located at Fort Ivern, just before the Gate of the Last Empire bonfire to be exact.

After this encounter with him and La Belle, a boat will appear in the Holy Forest at the lake, and from there you will be able to get to the Observed River that leads straight to Red Hood.

In Red Hood’s House

You will meet Red Hood in the first game for the first time in her house. Once you go inside her house, go to the second floor and you will see Red Hood sleeping in her room.

You have the option to either wake her up or undress you.

In Red Hood’s House

If you wake her up, she will just get out of her bed and say she needs to feed Poro, her dog. She will be downstairs in the kitchen, feeding her dog, and if you talk to her there, she’ll basically ignore you for the most part.

So, if you talk to her again, you have the option to rape her. If you kill Poro during the fight and finish with raping her, she will slit her throat.

Red Hood kills herself

If you decide to undress her while she’s still in her bed though, she will ignore you and go downstairs to feed her dog.

When you come back later she will not be in the kitchen anymore, and she’ll be back upstairs in her own room. You will be able to buy her body for 3000 souls, and if you want to buy her body again you will have the option to get her as your companion, but for 100000 souls.

Red Hood and the companion option

Red Hood in the Holy Forest

After buying Red Hood to be your companion she will appear in the Holy Forest, a little bit above the Prayer Master and Leaf.

If Elisabeth is in the Holy Forest, she will notice that and ask you whether she should ignore her or go and talk to her. If you tell Red Hood to go and talk to her and come back later, you will notice that Elisabeth is missing from her usual spot.

Elisabeth really despises Red Hood, who’s allegedly her daughter, and she doesn’t want to see her at all. Afterward, you can go to the Forest of Abandonment and find Elisabeth there in her demonbeast form.

Fighting the Red Hood

The fight with Red Hood is difficult not only because she’s strong but also because she’ll be fighting you with her companion, Poro, along her side.

Killing Red Hood will get you 100000 souls and the Little Red Riding Hood fairytale.

Hotel Poseidon

If you rescue Red Hood from her house and take her to the Holy Forest, when you get her to the 100th level you will be able to take her with you for some alone time in one of the rooms in Hotel Poseidon. Ask Pinocchio at the reception for a room, if he’s still alive of course.

The NSFW scene is quite interesting, to say the least, but you can kill her if you’re just looking for her fairytale.

Appearances | BS2

BLACKSOULS 2 introduces the SEN mechanic which is basically a meter of your sanity in the game. After a certain amount of SEN, you’ll see the world in a deluded way that’s far from reality.

When you enter the Lutwidge Town from the Rabbit Hole, there’ll be a mirror from which Red Hood will appear. You will see her as a beast if your SEN is high and then you’ll have to fight her if you don’t escape on time.

But if your SEN is low, she’ll immediately recognize who you are, and from then on your storyline with her starts.

Red Beast

If your SEN is high and you head towards the Lutwidge Town from the Rabbit Hole, right after defeating the Headhunting Beast, a beast that sorta resembles Red Hood will pop out of the mirror, and start chasing you.

At the same time, Detective Holmes will call out to you, to tell you to hurry up towards him down the stairs to escape the Red Beast. You can decide whether you want to confront the Red Beast, or if you want to go towards Holmes to save yourself from her.

If you initiate a fight with her, you’ll immediately recognize her as Red Hood in a different form due to how she looks.

She is incredibly strong, so you shouldn’t attempt to fight her in the first place unless you’re certain you can defeat her, which is a possibility after you finish the first cycle.

Red Hood’s Mark

To get Red Hood’s mark you’ll have to meet her 10 times (she’s usually by the bonfire) and you need to go to the Beach of Grief to talk to her afterward.

You have to make love to her first (force her if she’s reluctant), and then you’ll be able to get a kiss from Red Hood, i.e. she’ll leave her mark on you – which is necessary for F and G endings.

Here are all the locations (bonfires) you can meet her at:

  • Fuming Forest
  • Rabbit Hole
  • Liddell Cemetery
  • Ripon Grand Cathedral
  • Mushroom Village
  • Slaughterhouse
  • Red Castle Frissel
  • Garden of Hearts
  • Billingsgate Fish Market
  • Carroll River
  • Ruined Brothel
  • Ox Ward Academy
  • Duchess’ Mansion
  • Beach of Grief

Mother vs Daughter

If you meet Red Hood at least once and head towards the utmost south part of the Pond of the Bloody Tears, you will see a locked building you can get into, and there on the other side of the fog, you can see Red Hood who’s having a face-off with an iron maiden.

You have to have 0 SEN for all this.

You can come through the fog and help out Red Hood, which will initiate a fight with the Queen of Torture Tools. Even though she doesn’t look like Elisabeth, Red Hood will already know that’s her and will even address her as “mother”.

Elisabeth will then reveal her true form, she will regain all of her health and then proceed to fight both of you at once.

After the fight, if you defeat her, she and Red Hood will start talking about how it’s all Mary Sue’s fault that Elisabeth hates her own daughter. But Elisabeth will digress and say how she didn’t try not to hate Red Hood and that it’s just “what sort of character” she is.

Elisabeth will die then, and you will get her fairytale along with the Meteor Shower sorcery.

Ending G

After triggering the events that precede F and G endings, you will be summoned to an area called the Little Girl’s Nightmare where you will have to get through the majority of the characters in the game, but now they’re in their true forms.

They’re very strong, but you don’t have to fight them to get further.

After reaching Node, and after passing her, you will eventually encounter Red Hood who’s all alone, when you start talking to her though, another person will come to interrupt both of you – Mary Sue.

Red Hood and Mary Sue will be insulting each other, but then Mary will turn to you and thank you for saving her from jail. Red Hood will be surprised, but then you will get the chance to either save Mary Sue or Red Hood now that the world is ending.

If you choose Red Hood, it will anger Mary Sue a lot and she will instantly get in a fight with you and Red Hood.

Red Hood is a useful ally and Mary’s first form isn’t that strong. After taking out all of her health, Mary will turn into a demonbeast and she will be significantly stronger.

After Mary is finally defeated, she breaks down and reveals how Red Hood will automatically die when she turns 20, so she won’t even last half a year when everything ends.

Grimm will step up and punch Mary straight in the face and she will get thrown into a wall and presumably die, at least for now.

Both of them will talk about everything that Mary said, and Red Hood already knew that she wasn’t going to live very long. She isn’t surprised, and they’re both ready to finally escape this nightmare.

Then, both of you will go through the exit and face Alice. You will make love with Alice because you don’t have another choice, but during the intercourse, instead of continuing if you back out of the dialogue options by pressing “X”, you will be able to kill her.

She will reveal her true nature and try to kill you, but Red Hood will slash her neck.

And then the real fight will begin, even Poro will come to assist you in your fight against Alice, or The Crawling One.

Poro and Red Hood are very useful allies in this fight, as Alice is really strong in this form. After taking all of her health, she will activate her second form which is even stronger.

After the fight ends the entire world will start collapsing, that’s when all three of you will start running towards an escape. But then a giant object will fall and separate Red Hood and Poro from Grimm, with all other three Alices showing up and attacking them.

Grimm will leave them behind, and continue towards the real Alice who he will reach in the end. After Lewis Carroll comes out of Grimm and goes towards Alice, they will together go into the white void, but Grimm will continue further and wake up in a house in a totally different world.

When he leaves the house, he will find Red Hood who has lost her arm, but at least she’s alive, and that’s where everything ends.

Ending H

Red Hood makes a crucial appearance during Ending H.

Red Hood Finds Grimm

After you defeat Grand Guignol, you will start to initiate the final moments and the completion of Ending H. You will first encounter Node and she will say her goodbyes to you, and then Little Sister Alice will save you from Daughter Alice and Mother Alice trying to take you for herself.

You will be in a strange land that’s collapsing, jumping from platform to platform, and then when you’re right about to fall Red Hood will grab you by the hand and prevent you from falling into the abyss.

Red Hood will start saying how both of you will never leave each other ever again, and then Grimm will look down to see multiple Alices without faces dragging him down and not letting him go.

Red Hood won’t let you go, but you can stop her from holding you and save her by cutting off your hand, which will allow you to fall into the abyss.

Grimm Finds Red Hood

Before you see Red Hood again, there will be a brief moment of Leaf happily passing through the vast black emptiness.

Then the next scene will be with Grimm sitting next to Red Hood who’s lying in the bed. These are her last moments as Leaf made sure Red Hood doesn’t live past a certain age that now she finally had reached.

But even despite all that, Red will say this is the happiest day of her life, wishing for it to last forever. After that short conversation, everything becomes grey, and Red Hood dies.

Personality

Personality-wise, Red Hood is basically emotionless. There are some scenes in the second game that indicate she has a little bit of emotion, but due to her trauma or some other causes, she kinda lost the will for any happy events in life in general. Her main goal is to fight and survive the cold world of Elysium and later Wonderland.

But her companion, Poro, a wolf (kinda ironic) is her best friend that she’s always around with. When you meet her for the first time, they’ll be together and he’s her protector and vice-versa. They have a really nice friendship, which is probably what’s stopping her from suicide. Also, the wolf can talk.

Design

The Red Hood of BLACKSOULS has a very iconic design that’s lewd and not easy to forget. She has short blonde hair and blue eyes – which kinda makes her look like Saber from Fate. She has a red cloak with a hood that has white fur on its edges.

Red Hood's design

Her cloak with a hood resembles a wolf, and under it is her naked body covered by thin lines of clothing that play a big erotic element in her design.
