Shoeshiner Boots is an NPC in BLACKSOULS 2 you can find inside the Storage room in Billingsgate Wharf. It’s a small house you can see before you go through the fog to fight the Bellcaller Bellman.
Shoeshiner Boots sells Ore Shards, Large Ore Shards, and Ore Chunks, but he also has a lot of interesting dialogue.
All his dialogue is related to the Beastclad Butcher, Bellcaller Bellman, and Lewis Carroll’s poem The Hunting of the Snark – as they’re based on characters and events from there.
When you meet him for the first time he will start talking about the team that went to hunt the Snark and how it all ended terribly when the “dreaded Boojum” attacked. Boots fled for his life and survived – he will then mention Captain Bellman and how he’s trying to hunt even in his death.
If you have Sailor Clothes in your inventory he will recognize them, and ask if you found the Erebus. He will say how they left the sailors and kept going, and how that’s something he always regretted – he will reminisce about the expedition.
Trying to kill Shoeshiner Boots will initiate a fight with him where he will reveal that he’s the Boojum. Boojum is the snark that the others have been hunting this entire time.
Killing him will give you the Shoeshiner’s Ring.
