Chikerost appears at multiple places in the game, and he’s certainly an interesting NPC to talk to.
Charles Tavern
One of the first places you’ll encounter Chikerost is the Charles Tavern, which is located inside Lutwidge Town.
He will be right there sitting on a chair, in front of some delicious chicken. I don’t know if he’s planning to eat it or not, but if he is, then that’s cannibalism. Talking to him won’t get you anywhere really, he doesn’t know who Alice is.
If your SEN is low, you will not see him, but rather, a plate of chicken sitting in his place instead of him. You can even pick it up, and get some chicken that way.
After interacting with him there he will be outside of the Duchess’ Mansion.
Duchess’ Mansion
At the Duchess’ Mansion area, you will see him standing in front of the mansion. If you talk to him he will introduce himself to you and tell you how he’s still uneaten, and that he came here certain that the Duchess would eat him.
She didn’t want to eat him though, so naturally he’s quite upset.
If you have 0 SEN instead of Chikerost there will be a plate of chicken instead, that you can pick up and give to the Duchess.
After interacting with him there he will be in the Slaughterhouse, trapped inside the pig prison thing.
Slaughterhouse and Escape
After talking to Chikerost in the Duchess’ Mansion you can find him in the Slaughterhouse next, he will be in a locked cage with the pigs.
When you talk to Chikerost he will act like everything is normal, he’s not sure how he got caught but he says that he thinks it’s fine because he’s bound to be cooked into delicious meat.
If you ask him if he really wants to be eaten he will say that he was born for it and that his selling point is the deliciousness of his meat. But there’s one important thing he will mention, and that is that his good friend, Piggyfrost, told him about “a place in this land where snow falls from the sky!”.
Chikerost thinks that’s incredible and he likes the idea of snow falling like a glittering white rain. So he’s really curious to see that snow before being eaten, wondering how beautiful it will look.
You can take Chikerost to the Carroll River after defeating the Beastclad Butcher and after visiting the Carroll River. There will be the option to show him the snow after you ask him again if he wants to be eaten. If the option isn’t present, try activating the bonfire in Carroll Island and then talk to him again.
If you decide to show snow to Chikerost he will be really happy and will even call you a true friend. Then you two will head out of the Slaughterhouse and he will be amazed by the snow falling at the Carroll River. As a thank you, he tells you that he’d like you to kill and eat him, he says that you’re extremely lucky to get a chance to eat a chicken of this land, and he is too to have the happiness of a friend eating him.
You can kill him and get the Christmas Chicken, but you can also not kill him.
He will be confused if you refuse to kill him, but then you can tell him to not live to die and he will be even more confused because he thinks he was born to be eaten. He doesn’t understand but he will do it for you, saying that if he keeps on living he may come to understand your words one day.
Chikerost will start going away but then he will quickly come back and ask you for your name, as a thank you he will give you 30 Candy, which is an excellent reward worth taking. With Candy, you can buy all sorts of rare things from the White Crow.
Fighting Chikerost
If Chikerost is in the Slaughterhouse and if Jubjub’s Madness event is active, then by interacting with him you will get into a fight. You will know he’s going to fight you when he has his back turned away from you.
His sprite in a fight is a cooked chicken on a plate with a knife and a fork in hand.
By killing him you will get a chicken, he’s way stronger than he seems though.
