Rich Bird Goose is a fairytale and a companion in the first BLACKSOULS game that you can find at a certain part of the Behemoth Ranch. She’s a cute humanoid goose based on the “Golden Goose” fairy tale written by the Brothers Grimm.

Appearances | BS1
Rich Bird Goose appears for the first time in the first BLACKSOULS game.
Meeting Goose
At the beginning of the game, you can find Goose in one of the stables in the Behemoth Ranch. When you’re going through the area, eventually, you will get near her and she will call out for help, excusing herself to ask you if you would mind helping her out.
If you progress too much in the game Goose will turn into a demonbeast – check this section of this post for that.
When you come towards Goose and talk to her she will be really thankful that you came to her. You will give her your name and she will quickly introduce herself as Goose, “Peddler down on luck”.
Goose got caught by the “filthy pig brothers” so she ended up like this. She has shackles locking both of her legs, and the chains coming from them go underground. The pigs aren’t stupid according to her, even though they are just pigs – she can’t fly away because of the shackles.
Those pigs are the Three Little Pigs, and they wanted to sell Goose to the Demonic Princess Rapunzel. Goose wants to escape before that happens. The Three Little Pigs are dead though, so you won’t have issues with them. They got killed by the Monster Behemoth at the northern part of the Behemoth Ranch.
Goose asks if you could find a key to unlock the shackles, she hasn’t seen the pigs for some time so they may come back at any moment. She says that she has a reward for you, asking you to hurry up as much as possible.
Unlocking the Shackles
If you come back to Goose with a Master Key you can unlock her shackles and let her go.
When you talk to her before that she will ask if there’s any progress on finding the key, she apologizes for hurrying you but she says that her life is in danger and she’s getting quite desperate at the moment.
You can also assault Goose while she’s still chained.
But after Goose is freed from her shackles, she will thank you a lot and give you Sorcery [Omniblow] as a reward.
If you talk more to Goose she will say that “most of the livestock here turned…”, probably referring to that they turned into demonbeasts. Goose also said that she overheard the pigs talking about raising something really dangerous.
That dangerous being is Monster Behemoth, he kills them in the end too. Although, Goose doesn’t know about any of that.
Goose will tell you to be careful.
In the Holy Forest, 1
After you free Goose from her shackles at the Behemoth Ranch, and after you leave the area, Goose will appear in the eastern part of the Holy Forest, that you pass through when you head towards the Behemoth Ranch.
When you come toward Goose and talk to her she will be a little bit surprised that you’re also in the Holy Forest. Goose will tell you that she’s operating a Soul Bank, she says that if you’re scared to lose your souls then you can entrust them to her, and she claims she will take good care of them.
When you talk to her you’re able to deposit or withdraw your souls, but you can also try to assault her. If you try to assault her she will threaten you by saying she “may just stumble and bite off that thing you have hanging down there”.
If you leave her 1000 or more souls and kill 1 Demonic Princess, she will steal all your souls and disappear.
Catching Goose the Thief
When Goose runs away with all of your souls you will have to go to the Sea of Trash. When you come into the Sea of Trash from the Holy Forest don’t go up but just go to the right and you will see a tent you can enter – that’s the Abandoned Tent, where Goose is in.
When you come toward Goose she will be surprised, asking how you even managed to find her in there. If you ask her why did she steal your souls she will deny stealing your souls and will say that she only “reappropriated”.
Goose will then agree to explain everything. She will say that she isn’t a trader, beyond the sea she’s known as a “chivalrous thief”. Goose steals from the rich and gives to the poor, she says that’s what she lives for, and then continues on to talk about how because of arrogant nobles innocent people suffer and starve, and she can’t accept that injustice.
Goose then says that here all the money and riches she gathered are worthless – souls are everything. So she says that she had to get a lot of souls somehow, because hungry for souls, countless people turn into demonbeasts, and faith alone won’t do anything to help here, so in the end, according to Goose, “the wealth is everything”.
Goose will apologize for taking your souls because she had no other way of getting them, so she asks if you can find it in yourself to forgive her.
If you decide that you should forgive Goose for what she has done, she will thank you and then remark that your stupidity saved her.
Suddenly a cloud of smoke will fill the tent and it will completely block the view inside.
Goose will then say:
“I didn’t lie to you. I’ll use these souls with great care. Thank you for getting them for me”.
“Now we’ll never meet again. Farewell, (your name).”
Goose will successfully escape the room and you will see her again when you come inside the Lost Empire. She will be executed. For more on that check this section of this post.
When you choose to not forgive Goose she will then make a bad attempt at apologizing – her apology seems forced and not sincere at all.
So you will get the option to either accept that apology or not forgive her.
Forgiving her will trigger the same events if you forgave her when you first got the option.
If you decide not to forgive Goose she will start panicking so she will ask if it’s her body that you want. Goose will say that she’s not such a cheap woman but only showing her naked body is okay with her, so she asks you if that would be enough.
Then you will get the choice to forgive her or not forgive her, again. If you forgive her then the same thing will happen if you forgive her when you get the option for the first time.
If you don’t forgive her then she will ask what she has to do for you to forgive her.
You can either assault her or tell her that you want her by your side.
If you tell her that you want her by your side Goose will be flustered, asking if that’s a confession. The player will seem to stay silent for a second and then she will say “I-it is, isn’t it…you love me……”, remarking how this is the first time something like that happened to her.
Goose still won’t be sure about your confession and if it’s really true but eventually the player will get her to believe him and she will tell you that she thinks you’re pretty cool. Goose will remark that she may be inexperienced, so she just asks you to treat her well.
You will then get Goose as your companion.
Goose will say that this is the first time she fell in love with someone, also saying “So you aren’t allowed to betray me, alright?”. She will then say that she’s going back to the Holy Forest and will apologize for making everything so awkward.
In the Holy Forest, 2
When you come back to the Holy Forest, Goose will be back at the booth in the eastern part.
If you approach her and talk to her she will ask if you could come inside the booth for a moment.
And then an H scene will start.
After that, Goose will get back to her banking services and you will be able to use her Soul Bank again. This time she won’t steal from you.
If you want to level her up then you will have to approach her from behind by going into the booth.
Teaching Elma
After a certain point in the game as you progress further, and if both Goose and Elma are in the Holy Forest, then when you go to the eastern part of the Holy Forest there’s a chance of an interesting interaction between them happening.
When you come toward them you will see Goose explaining a math problem to Elma that she has to solve. Goose will say that there are 32 people, and each of them has 7200 souls, so she’s asking Elma what’s the total amount of souls.
Elma will guess correctly and say 230400, and Goose will tell her that she’s amazing.
Goose will then notice that you’re there as well and she will say that she’s teaching Elma “the art of mental arithmetic”.
She says that Elma will be a genius merchant someday, Elma will then butt in and say that when she grows up, she will have a store just like “miss Goose”.
Hotel Poseidon Visit
Getting Goose to the 100th level will allow you to take her to Hotel Poseidon, to one of the rooms where you can either make love to her or decide to kill her. You can get in a room by talking to Pinocchio at the reception.
I like birds, but if you don’t, you can decide to instantly kill Goose and get her fairytale – the Golden Goose.
Misc | BS1
Miscellaneous interactions with Goose.
Turning Into a Demonbeast
Goose will eventually turn into a demonbeast if you progress too much in the game and leave her chained up in the Behemoth Ranch. Her demonbeast form looks like a big goose because she’s some kind of a goose herself.
The fight isn’t anything too spectacular. She shouldn’t be too difficult to defeat, and after killing her you will get the Golden Goose fairytale.
Playing in the Water
If you saved Goose and if she’s on the 30th level or higher, when you go to the beach part of the Holy Forest there will be a scene where she’ll be playing in the water.
It will start with Goose playing, splashing, and hopping in the lake. She will be beautifully dancing as she’s humming to a tune – even though she seems fairly distracted, she will notice you instantly and ask if you’re peeping at her by any chance.
Goose will not be happy at all that you were possibly peeping on her. You will deny that you were peeping but she will say that there’s no need to be embarrassed by now, telling you to be honest that you were peeping.
Goose will then come closer to you all to pressure you into confessing what you were doing, and unable to resist her charm you will confess. She will laugh a bit and then tell you that now you have to pay the “peeping fee”, and then she will push you down.
Goose will then not continue to pursue the matter further, surprised that it excited you so much. So she will just harshly tease you before the scene ends.
Execution in the Lost Empire
The title of this section is quite self-explanatory. If you decide to forgive Goose for stealing your souls, you will later be able to find her, in a dying state, in the Lost Empire at the beginning part of the area.
Goose is shackled to a wall and there’s blood around her. When you approach her she will start asking who is there, because she can’t see anymore.
She will then say “Looks like in the end I’m just a sack of souls…”, then she will proceed to call herself stupid for trying to be a messiah.
After that, she will say her last words:
“But…everyone……”
“is save, right…so…it’s fine……”
“I’m…already……”
“too……tired……”
Goose will then drop the Golden Goose fairytale.
In the Basement
Goose in the Basement isn’t too happy that you captured her – she doesn’t want your baby.
Ending A
Goose is a character who appears in Ending A. She will be away from the dining table, down at the fence.
When you talk to Goose, she will say that she’s not good at parties. She will say that it’s now time to think about you two’s betrothal ceremony and that there’s no refusing now.
Goose will say that you two will “100% become a sweet, loving married couple!”.
Companion Ending
Goose is one of the characters in BLACKSOULS that has a Companion Ending.
More on that here.
Appearances | BS2
Goose appears briefly in the second game during a certain sequence.
It’s not sure whether the Golden Chick is actually Goose or not, or maybe there’s a third answer to the existence of that entity.
Golden Chick
If you give enough souls to Humpty Dumpty, he will give birth to the Golden Chick who bears a resemblance to Goose from the first game. The Golden Chick doesn’t have the same fairytale as Goose (they have different geese-related fairytales), but they look alike.
There’s a 0 SEN interaction that reveals a possible connection between the Golden Chick and the Rich Bird Goose.
Hotel Poseidon Flashback
Another place where you can see Goose is a brief moment during the Hotel Poseidon Flashback.

Personality
Goose may look very cute and innocent, but even though she doesn’t have hands she’s a thief and also a liar. She steals from the rich and gives to the poor, and her wish to do so can cost her her life under certain conditions in the game. Goose is a nice person, and she appears to be quite lonely.
You will see how lovely and sweet she is when you have her by your side.
Design
Goose’s design is quite simple. She’s a girl with a slender figure and little to no clothes on her body.
The private parts of her body, most noticeably her chest, are covered by her feathers since she’s a bird after all. She has wings instead of hands so that distinctively sets her apart from any regular human beings.
She’s quite cute with her short white hair and red eyes.
