There are a lot of Minecraft mods to choose from. Ever since the release of Minecraft, players have been creating custom content for it in terms of mods, texture packs, skins, maps, and whatnot. A lot of people when talking about mods only mention Forge mods, so I decided to create a post that has plenty of fun Fabric Minecraft mods you can download and play whenever you want.
There’s plenty of stuff here, from performance enhancers to completely new blocks and items.

Spectrum
I never really thought that color theory could be this fun. Spectrum is a mod about colors that is based on exploration and steady progress. It’s not really like other mods and at times it can be quite difficult to deal with, but the mod is not meant to be rushed. It’s more for a peaceful and enjoyable type of gameplay. It adds a lot of new magical items, blocks, decorations, enchantments and etc. It’s very fun to have this mod around.
Industrial Revolution
Have you ever thought about the Industrial Revolution and its consequences? If yes then you should download this Minecraft mod to revolutionize your vanilla Minecraft experience, with a lot of new tech and industry to learn about. You can automate basically anything through a bunch of fun machines and other fun tools. It’s quite futuristic.
Tectonic
Are you bored of the vanilla Minecraft world generation? I am because it can get really stale and boring after a while of exploring and it doesn’t feel like discovering anything new and fun. If you feel that way too you should check out Tectonic because it really changes how worldgen acts by adding big changes and innovations to your classic Minecraft world that make it seem bigger and scarier in a way.
Traveler’s Titles
A really cool thing that most RPG games have are the titles that come up on the screen when you come into a new area. This Minecraft mod does the same thing – whenever you enter a new biome, an epic title will appear showcasing the biome’s name. You can customize it however you want and it even works with all modded biomes in the game.
Better Climbing
Climbing in Minecraft is really annoying. Although it is not a significant change to the game, this mod changes how you climb ladders and it lets you have more control over the way you do it. It’s a simple quality-of-life feature that you’ll find useful if you use ladders quite frequently. Other than that it can be a fun thing to experiment with.
Better Combat
I always hated the Minecraft 1.9 combat update. This Minecraft mod implements the combat system from Minecraft Dungeons right into the original Minecraft. That itself makes the game very very different and it makes combat much more fun (at least imo). The animations are really cool since you have one-handed, two-handed, and dual-wielded attack animations.
Repurposed Structures
Repurposed Structures is a pretty good mod that does a decent enough overhaul of the vanilla structures that naturally generate in Minecraft worlds. It adds new variants and modifies the rest, which makes the classic Minecraft structures feel kinda less boring and more fun to explore and etc. This mod’s creator has many other great Fabric mods that repurpose strongholds, mineshafts, and all other great stuff. You should check them out.
Decorative Blocks
Sometimes the vanilla blocks can be stale and overused if you’re really passionate about decorating spaces in Minecraft. Decorative Blocks adds a lot of good new decorative blocks which make building kinda more fun than before. The decorations don’t drift away too much from the original Minecraft feel and will be of good use in any Minecraft world.
Simple Discord RPC
Don’t you love sharing everything you’re doing with others? I certainly do and that’s why I downloaded Simple Discord RPC because it makes others on Discord see exactly what I’m up to in Minecraft! It’s a pretty cool feature, although it doesn’t change anything ingame, it makes Minecraft’s Discord rich presence pretty cool.
Just Enough Items (JEI)
Just Enough Items has been on the Minecraft modding scene since forever. It’s one of the must-have mods for the game because it makes the game so much easier. It makes the game easier by allowing you to see all available items in the game. If you have a lot of mods you can’t get lost at all, because you can use the search option, to see all items, recipes, and all items’ uses. It’s very handy.
Xaero’s Minimap
Xaero’s Minimap is also one of the greatest Minecraft mods out there. It’s simple since it’s just a minimap but it makes a lot of things easier – especially if you like exploration and have a lot of bases or whatever else of that nature. It’s a good mod that fits the feel of Minecraft perfectly. It has waypoints (and deathpoints) too btw, which is very cool if you ask me.
The Twilight Forest
The Twilight Forest is one of the best Minecraft mods that adds a new dimension to the game so I can’t really make this list without it. It adds a whole different dimension full of dungeons, bosses, and treasure you can obtain. The mod is quite old, and it kinda feels like old Minecraft – or that’s probably just me because of the nostalgia I have for this mod.
Chipped
Chipped is a great mod for building. It allows you to customize various blocks in so many different unimaginable ways that add a lot of variety to building in the game. It’s simple to use and it’s cool to feel like a carpenter from time to time. It perfectly fits the aesthetic of vanilla Minecraft.
Serene Seasons
Seasons are something that vanilla Minecraft lacks. To make the game fully realistic you should get this mod because as time passes, the grass and other colors in nature will start changing according to the current season. The changing seasons in this mod also affect how the crops grow and the weather and plenty of other stuff.
Aquaculture 2
For me, fishing is the best part of Minecraft. I don’t know why, but it’s so relaxing and nice to just fish in Minecraft while not thinking about anything important. Aquaculture 2 adds a lot of variety to fishing and new loot you can get to create new armor and new tools that look very cool and feel vanilla-like. You will never get bored of fishing with this mod.
Sodium
Sodium is a great Minecraft Fabric mod if you’re looking to increase performance in the game. I don’t really know how to explain what it does on the technical side, but it will make your gameplay much more smoother and you will have a significantly larger FPS count. It’s open source and one of the best Fabric mods for improving rendering performance and FPS in general.
Small Ships
A good portion of every Minecraft world consists of large bodies of water (i.e. oceans, seas, and whatnot). Sometimes it can be really annoying to go through these areas, especially considering the state of boats in Minecraft. Small Ships is there to make this part of world exploration fun, and it even allows you to have cannons on your ships so you can shoot other people and things.
You’re in Grave Danger
If you die a lot in Minecraft (like me) you’ll love this mod. What this mod does is quite simple yet it’s so revolutionary. Whenever you die, at the place you died, a gravestone will appear with your name and all your items will be inside it. It will not despawn and you can go and claim it anytime you want to. It’s really useful, and I’m very thankful for this mod’s existence.
