The anime adaptation of Berserk which was released in 2017 is one of the most controversial anime out there and a lot of people seem to hate it for some reason. While the animation itself isn’t perfect – that alone shouldn’t be the reason that’s stopping you from watching it.
I didn’t watch Berserk 2017 when it originally came out because I got into the series a few years later.
But after reading the manga, watching the original anime from 1997 and the movie trilogy I gave Berserk 2017 a try. I was expecting it to be bad, but in reality, it’s not as bad as people make it out to be. Actually, it’s very enjoyable and fun to watch, but only if you’re familiar with the story it adapts.
The story will be very confusing for those who just finished the original anime from 1997.
So if you want to experience Berserk 2017 in the best way possible, you should do it by reading the manga up to the point the anime covers it – which is Chapter 249.
Don’t let others discourage you from watching it. It has its flaws but Berserk as a series is hard to adapt – you’ll like this anime if you read the manga.
