Nightmares in Madoka are a new type of enemy introduced in the 3rd Madoka movie Rebellion or Puella Magi Madoka☆Magica: The Rebellion Story.
It’s a substitute for Witches that the Holy Quintet is supposed to fight while trapped in Homulilly’s Labyrinth. They were basically created just to keep the Magical Girls busy so they remain trapped inside the Labyrinth for as long as possible. They also weren’t aware that they were trapped in the first place.
Appearance-wise, the Nightmares present some kind of a doll with a big head or a hat. They can detach their hands and shoot explosive objects, which is their main way of attacking. Regardless of their deadliness, they’re quite cute.
There are two types of Nightmares:
- Little Goat’s Dream
- Little Bear’s Dream
