Food in vanilla Minecraft is utterly boring and there’s a huge lack of content in regards to that entire system. There are so many things that can be improved, so much empty space for new food items to be added, and maybe some different features regarding that system. That’s why I decided to compile some of the best Minecraft food mods that caught my attention and that I’ll be using while playing Minecraft.

Butcher’s Delight Foods

Meat was the best thing to happen to the world (unless you’re a vegetarian). It’s so tasty and full of flavor that the art of being a butcher even made its way into Minecraft. With this mod each and every animal in Minecraft has up to 3 animal parts you can obtain from them that you can cook and then eat afterwards. It has a nice realistic selection of meat and you can trade it with the Butcher Villager if you have an abundance of it.
Vanilla Cookbook

Are you looking for plenty of new food added to Minecraft that doesn’t drift away from the vanilla feeling of Minecraft too much? If you feel that way you should choose this mod because it adds plenty of simple new foods that aren’t hard to get and that aren’t too different from the regular vanilla Minecraft culinary choice. You can have everything from cooked eggs to French toast.
Sushi Go Crafting

Now if you enjoy the process of cooking and making food in Minecraft you should take a look at this sushi mod which will make you feel like a real chef. It adds a whole complex process of making sushi. With this mod come plenty of new ingredients you can also use. It’s quite cool especially if you understand that sort of thing, and it can be a fun addition to any Minecraft roleplay experience.
Caupona

Everyone has differences in preferences when it comes to cuisines. Some people like Chinese food, some people like the Mediterranean, and some people may like something else. This Minecraft food mod solely focuses on traditionalism and old technology (heat). Caupona makes sure to add plenty of new food, fun building materials, and even hypocaust bathing so you can feel like you are in ancient Rome. Cooking with volcanic fumaroles is very interesting.
Ender’s Delight

The End dimension is naturally quite empty when it comes to food choices. Ender’s Delight significantly changes that by adding so many different ingredients and foods you can make just on the basis of the resources you can find in the End. They match the original feeling of the End dimension very well, and the food is unique and something that in my opinion should be added to vanilla Minecraft.
Haunted Harvest

At the time you’re reading this post it probably isn’t even Halloween or anywhere close to that season. But regardless, the Haunted Harvest mod adds food that’d fit that aesthetic – candy, rotten apples, grim apples, corn, splattered eggs. Along with those foods, there are plenty of fun Halloween features like the trick-or-treat system among the Villagers and even seasonal village decorations. Craving pumpkins is also extra fun in this mod as it’s done in a unique way.
Golden Foods!

My favorite (and the coolest) Minecraft food mod on this list definitely has to be Golden Foods! That’s because this mod adds golden variations for all of the foods in the game just like there are golden versions of apples and carrots. They look really cool and give that same feeling when you have a regular golden apple in your inventory. There are also enchanted gold versions of the foods which makes the mod extra fun.
Rock Candy

Candy has to be one of the best parts of life. That’s why I had to include a Minecraft mod that adds actual rock candy into the game! Not only that the textures themselves look tasty, but you can even make a sword from hardened rock candy. The way you can find raw and rock candy is through the candy ore which you can mine and then eat afterwards. It’s a simple mod that’s fun to have around.
