The Nether dimension in Minecraft can a lot of the times feel quite empty especially if you’re bored of Vanilla Minecraft and want to put plenty of Nether mods that will make the whole diving into hell experience much more fun. I have prepared plenty of Nether mods for Minecraft, which I find quite interesting.

Nether’s Delight
Nether’s Delight adds to the Nether dimension a whole roster of its native food. This mod isn’t standalone, it’s an add-on for Farmer’s Delight. It will significantly expand the selection of food and what you can eat in the Nether. It’s fun if you like hot food!
Gardens of the Dead
Gardens of the Dead is a great Nether mod that focuses on adding more biomes into that dimension. These biomes quite fit the whole aesthetic of the Nether, and some of the biomes are quite mysterious and it can be scary to traverse through them.
NetherPortalFix
NetherPortalFix is great if you have a lot of Nether portals that just overlap with each other. This issue is also quite common in multiplayer worlds, and getting transferred to the wrong location is quite bothersome. This doesn’t change the 8:1 block ratio between the Nether dimension and the Overworld.
NoDimensions
Maybe you are tired of Nether and want it to stop existing, forever. Then what you can do is download this mod and voila, you can disable the Nether dimension, and even the End dimension if you want to.
Nether Skeletons
Nether Skeletons is a great mod if you’re looking for more fun and unique enemies in Nether. This mod adds plenty of new skeletons, 9 in total, that you can find and fight. They’re all totally custom and their AI has unique behavior. I particularly like how they’re designed.
MNS – Moog’s Nether Structures
Nether doesn’t have plenty of unique and fun structures you can explore. There aren’t a lot of them, and this mod seeks to fix that problem by adding more fun structures to this dimension that are very fitting in all ways. It makes exploration more fun.
Nether’s Exoticism
Another mod that adds food exclusive to the Nether is Nether’s Exoticism. This mod adds new exotic food you can find all throughout the dimension. This food is counted as exotic and it can even be found in real life. It’s a neat way to add more food sources into the Nether since I always starve there.
TheObsidianBoat
Wanna cruise around the countless seas and pools of lava in the Nether? TheObsidianBoat allows you to do just that, by adding obsidian boats with which you can harmlessly drive around lava anywhere in Minecraft. It sinks in water though, and it’s crafted like a normal boat but just with obsidian instead of wood.
Realm RPG: Imps & Demons
Realm RPG: Imps & Demons adds new monsters to the Nether that remind me a lot of the beings you can find in Terraria’s version of hell. These imps and demons are your new enemies, and there are very hard beings such as the Ancient Demon Lord, that drop great rewards.
Hearths
A nice lightweight mod you can add to significantly expand the contents of the Nether dimension in Minecraft is Hearths. It adds two new structures and improves the already existing Nether biomes. This mod is great if you don’t prefer big changes that drift from the original Vanilla feeling of Minecraft.
YUNG’s Better Nether Fortresses
One of the best mods for expanding Nether Fortresses in the game is YUNG’s Better Nether Fortresses. This mod makes them so much better and bigger, while also doing its part to make the fortresses more soulful! It’s really cool how this mod interprets the Nether Fortress.
BetterNether
BetterNether is another pretty good Minecraft mod that seeks to totally overhaul the Nether dimension. With this mod, Nether has more biomes, expanded vegetation, more cool mobs, materials, food, and even new structures! You should get this if you really like Nether in general.
Basic Nether Ores
Basic Nether Ores is quite a simple mod for Nether. It focuses on adding the same ores you can find in the Overworld straight into the Nether dimension. This means by mining in the Nether you can even stumble upon diamonds!
NetherEx
Another cool mod that greatly revamps the Nether dimension is NetherEx. It adds new biomes that are really unique and cool. I like a lot the aesthetic of this mod, and the new mobs that come with it are also, particularly interesting.
Nether Depths Upgrade
If you looooooove fishing then you should get the Nether Depths Upgrade mod, because it adds plenty of fish you can catch by fishing in lava. This significantly expands the fishing experience since it’s not reserved for water anymore. Too bad something like this isn’t present in Vanilla Minecraft.
Bygone Nether
Bygone Nether adds new very interesting Nether structures into the game. These structures also have new mobs inside them and are very fun to explore. The structure that especially caught my eye is the giant Wither structure, also called the Catacomb. It looks epic.
Infernal Expansion
A really cool thing that Infernal Expansion does is it adds a whole new biome dedicated to glowstone! The Glowstone Canyon is perfect for everyone who loves glowstone and everything about it, and that includes me. It just looks really cool and besides that, there are also almost 100 new blocks added to the game.
Always a Wither Skull
Always a Wither Skull is a Minecraft mod that’s quite self-explanatory. Instead of having to constantly grind for Wither Skeleton skulls, now whenever you kill a Wither Skeleton, there’s a 100% chance of it dropping a skull. It makes life certainly easier.
Formations Nether
Formations Nether is a Minecraft mod solely focused on adding new structures into the Nether dimension. Exploring the Nether with this mod is way more fun than it is in Vanilla Minecraft. It makes it feel much more alive.
No Ruined Nether Portals
Are you sick and tired of Ruined Nether Portals in the Overworld? I am not tbh, but if you are, feel free to download No Ruined Nether Portals in order to get rid of them in your playthrough, forever!
Smaller Nether Portals
Wanna make cute and kawaii Nether portals? With the Smaller Nether Portals mod, you can make a Nether portal of quite literally any size. Not only does this make it easier to get into Nether, but it also makes it more flexible in terms of styling and building.
