15 Scariest Minecraft Horror Maps

HomeMinecraft15 Scariest Minecraft Horror Maps

In a lot of cases, Minecraft horror maps are scarier than some of the actual horror games out there. They’re always so fun to play and despite being a block game, Minecraft is really scary in vanilla singleplayer just because of how alone you are. And now take that creepy lonely ambient of Minecraft and combine it with a horror map, you’ll certainly get a horrifying experience that’s worth enduring.

These maps are not only scary, some of them are based on some of your favorite horror games and series, while others have their own unique stories and plots that are equally horrifying. I really don’t like horror games and that’s also the reason why I never play Minecraft alone, so if you’re really ready for a challenge play one of these maps without anyone by your side!

POISON

POISON

POISON is a really famous Minecraft horror map that has over 500,000 downloads and it’s made by a famous Minecraft horror map maker. It’s a horrifying map with a unique aesthetic and it’s playable in multiplayer if you’re scared to experience this alone. It’s full of adventure, horror, and pressure that’ll give you the true original feeling of Minecraft horror.

Five Nights at Freddy’s

Five Nights at Freddy’s

I had to include this horror map because Five Nights at Freddy’s is one of the best horror games out there (specifically talking about the 1st game). This Minecraft map perfectly recreates the experience that the game sought to give with its scary new characters and a concept that had practically never been seen before at that time. There’s also a second part of this map which covers the events of the 2nd game, and many more similar FNAF Minecraft maps.

Alien: A Crafters Isolation

One of the classics of Minecraft horror maps is Alien: A Crafters Isolation. It’s a well-known map based on Alien Isolation and it even supports 2 player co-op action which is so fun. Running from aliens is scary, especially from the accurately made Xenomorphs – so come and take a look at how this Minecraft horror map perfectly encapsulates the horrifying aesthetics of that game.

Back to School

Schools are terrifying. Not only because of homework and constant exams but also because of their aesthetic (at least that’s how I felt about my school). Horror games placed in schools are always scary and worth checking out, so that’s why this Minecraft horror map is also extremely scary and it’s a literal nightmare scenario. And that’s exactly the reason why it’s so good!

The Asylum

Asylums are already scary enough, so that’s why they work great in any horror media if done right! And that’s why this Minecraft horror map is so good. Unfortunately, it’s only for singleplayer but that’ll only make it more terrifying and the experience will be even more intense. The map is really good, it’s one of the little bit older maps but it still manages to scare anyone who’s brave enough to download it in this day and age.

Late

Sleeping at work is something you shouldn’t really do (because you’ll get fired). And this map is a great example because it shows you the consequences of doing such a thing. But instead of getting fired, you’ll wake up with a corpse next to you and now it’s on you to escape your workplace which became a nest of terrifying.. stuff. It’s a scary map with voice acting and over 500 models and textures. It’s not too long and it’s very intense.

The Doll Maker

I hate dolls. When I was little I was traumatized by Chucky and Child’s Play. So that’s the reason why I don’t think I’ll be able to play this Minecraft horror map. The Doll Maker is a horror map where you wake up in an office unknown to you with no memory whatsoever, and it’s on you to find your way out and remember why you were there in the first place. The map is really scary and my favorite on this list – I’d recommend this to all who want to experience pure horror.

St. Josephine’s

St. Josephine’s

St. Josephine’s is one of the Minecraft horror maps that takes place in an experimental research facility. With that being said it has a really scary ambient and a ton of stuff to explore not to mention all the dark secrets that are the cause of the misfortune caused in this laboratory. You can play this with friends, but get ready for a psychologically exhausting experience where you’ll have to face everything this extraordinarily scary storyline has to offer.

The Redmoore Mansion Mystery

The Redmoore Mansion Mystery is one of the most unique horror maps out there with an insanely high replayability value. Why? Well, because this map generates new content each time you play it. It works with multiplayer and I’d play this with friends because it reminds me of a lot of Roblox horror games. It’s scary and full of fun content and experiences that are unique for each new playthrough.

The House

While the name of this Minecraft horror map might not sound too ominous, it’s quite scary and dreadful. You wake up in your house which becomes a weird fusion of your bad memories and other horror that’ll take a toll on your psyche. It’s a unique concept and one of the older maps, but that just makes it even scarier. A lot of the time you’ll not really know what to even expect anymore. It’s that good!

Granny!

Have you ever played Granny? If you did you’ll love this map. It’s made to be completely the same as the original game and in my opinion, the aesthetic and feeling of Minecraft perfectly encompasses the original vibe Granny gave. It’s very fun and intense, but also simple if you don’t like too complex challenges.

The Eight Pages

The Eight Pages

If you’re looking for a fun and unique Slenderman experience in Minecraft, then I think this map will be something you’ll like. As a big fan of creepypastas I have to appreciate the creator of this map because Slenderman works so well in Minecraft – you really have to download the map and experience it for yourself. It’s scary, and haunting. You have to collect eight pages while the lanky creature chases you. The creator of this map also made The House.

No Words

This is another great classic Minecraft horror map with a terrifying aesthetic. It has a unique storyline where she chases you – and if you’re wondering who’s that “she” – I won’t tell you! The texture packs that come with this map are beautiful and haunting. So get ready for a lot of jumpscares and an intense storyline that’ll leave a daunting effect on your mental health.

SCP: Blocktainment Breach

If you’re looking for an accurate SCP experience I’d recommend you this Minecraft horror map. It’s a perfect recreation of SCP: Containment Breach, and it’s on you to escape this horrifying facility while playing as a Class-D employee. The map is complex and so well made – it has over 5800 command blocks so get ready for a lot of amazing custom content.

OUTLAST

OUTLAST

Do you want to experience the original feeling of Outlast but in Minecraft? I certainly do and that’s why I have to recommend this horror map to you. It’s a perfect recreation of Outlast and the amount of attention paid to details is astonishing. The atmosphere of Outlast obviously perfectly fits into Minecraft, so get ready for a lot of horror action with tons of really well-made custom content.
