Minecraft is full of really fun maps of all genres. I really like RPG maps, and I played them on and on again through old and new versions of Minecraft. I’m really passionate about them because of all the memories and stuff I experienced on them, so I wanted to make a special article devoted to only the RPG maps I found really fun. These are just my personal favorites and I’m sure there’s plenty of other great RPG maps out there.

Enderbent

Enderbent is an RPG adventure map in Minecraft full of areas to explore and items to collect. It has a really nice way of progressing and I like the wide variety of items you can get by exploring and encountering the custom mobs and their lairs. It’s full of dungeons and over the years the map has been significantly expanded. Everyone who loves a good RPG adventure full of stuff to explore and things to gather must play this map.
Sword of Light

Sword of Light is a Minecraft map that is great for those who are huge fans of Zelda and who want to finally play a good co-op adventure RPG Minecraft map. It must be played with 2 players, and it features over 5 hours of playtime which is quite fun, considering how impressive everything looks from the landscape to the way bosses and dungeons are designed.
Heaven’s Quest

Heaven’s Quest is an older SkyBlock map that’s made in an RPG style. It has an interesting system of Earth and Heaven – which is basically a system of progression and quests that’s done in a fun and (very) rewarding way. You get points for each day you survive and you can buy items with these points but you need to unlock them first through quests. It’s fun and simple.
The Islands of Junara

The Islands of Junara is one of the most well-known Minecraft RPG maps out there. It’s an RPG map that takes place on the islands scattered throughout the sky (there’s no ground like in SkyBlock). Each island has dungeons and bosses you have to go through and my favorite thing about the map is the amount of cool items you can collect, and the dungeons that are very fun to explore and go through. This is probably one of the best RPG experiences out there.
The King of Shadows

Looking for a classic RPG Minecraft adventure? The King of Shadows is quite an adventure with its storyline and quests that compel you to spend more and more time on this map. It’s set in a fantasy setting on the continent of Faerun and it’s on you to stop the King of Shadows. It has 175 quests, a huge amount of custom armor, weapons, etc, and literally an entire world to explore. Just take a look at the map of the map!
THE BLADE

THE BLADE is a classic fun Minecraft RPG adventure made in 1.19 with an interesting story and a big world to explore. There are four islands you can explore and plenty of areas to explore. Some bosses can be difficult but it’s fun grinding in this map and progressing is quite fun. Have fun exploring, the dungeons are pretty cool.
Across the Time

This map did an excellent job of implementing the RPG element into Minecraft. You can choose from 8 different classes to play with and each one of them has its special set of spell book or passive abilities. The difficulty on the map changes with the number of players present on it. There are plenty of NPCs and a huge collecting potential with various different rarities for weapons and armor.
Islandia – The Blackened Sea

A fantasy setting on an island sounds like a lot of fun. Islandia will have you trapped on this fantasy island with plenty of dungeons and other islands to explore. There’s an entire story for you to discover and mythical creatures like ogres and frost spirits you can encounter. You’ll have to grind a little bit to progress further, but it’s done in a fun way that’s worth playing.
Amidst the Clouds

Amidst the Clouds is a Minecraft RPG map where you’re on a floating island, amidst the clouds. It’s a fun map with a few floating biomes that have custom mobs, bosses, and dungeons you can explore. The storyline is simple and fun – you have minor and major quests you can complete. Trading with villagers is done in a fun way with money. It’s a relaxing RPG experience.
The Golden Chalice of Kurast

So let’s end this list with something huge. The Golden Chalice of Kurast is a rather huge RPG experience in Minecraft with a big storyline that has over 25 main quests that include very fun boss battles, along with 125 side quests that you can do for fun and extra equipment. The map is full of beautiful landscapes and nice stuff you can see – there are even towns and cities with a great amount of detail in them, the entire world is just so beautiful it’s definitely worth checking it out!
